Isaiah 1:5-6,16,18 - "Why should you be beaten anymore? Why do you persist in rebellion? Your whole head is injured, your whole heart afflicted. From the sole of your foot to the top of your head there is no soundness -- only wounds and welts and open sores, not cleansed or bandaged or soothed with oil.... wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight! Stop doing wrong, learn to do right!Come now, let us reason together," says the Lord. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool."

What are you waiting for?
There are times when I read the Bible that the words hit me so deeply I can't help but cry. On Thursday I started reading the book of Isaiah which I eagerly wanted to begin because I was told that a lot of Jesus prophesies were written on it. And just the first chapter brought me to my knees in awe, love and repentance. It was like hearing a father telling you how much He was suffering of seeing you torn apart. I just could imagine God's loving voice calling to repentance, not filled with wrath, but with real sadness. As someone who has given everything and was utterly betrayed and forsaken. A father hurt to see how much his sons were suffering and didn't turn to look the one who will embrace them and will take their pain away. Moreover, I could see in those verses how God couldn't stand anymore empty rituals and hollow prayers. He wants obedient hearts who let Jesus reign over their lives. He is willing to forgive anyone who comes with humble heart, acknowledging that they can't do it without God. And then, he will give you a new life filled with purpose that will also last eternally.
